Police seized a firearm and a number of cannabis plants after armed officers stormed a residential street in Penryn yesterday evening.
A 35-year-old man remains in police custody following an incident in a small residential street off Eastwood Road.
Police initially received reports that an armed man was making threats.
When at the scene, officers seized a gas-powered ball bearing handgun and cannabis plants.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called to an address in Penryn at around 5.20pm yesterday (Thursday 11 July) with reports of a man allegedly making threats with a suspected handgun.
“Units, including armed officers, attended the scene and a man was detained.
“One gas-powered ball bearing handgun was located and seized, along with a number of cannabis plants.
“A 35-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and cultivation of cannabis and remains in police custody.
“Enquiries are continuing at the scene this morning.”
