Snakes, mice lizards and cannabis! – Independent.ie

Gardaí raided a house in South Sligo at the week-end and discovered 12 snakes, two lizards, a tarantula and a number of mice along with €200k worth of cannabis plants growing in the attic.

Three people, two men and a woman, all Polish nationals, have been remanded in custody to this Thursday’s sitting of Sligo District Court arising out of the raid on the house at Cloonloo on Saturday around midday.

During the course of the search Gardaí discovered the cannabis cultivation operation containing 250 plants as well as processed cannabis herb.

The drugs, subject to analysis, have a street value of in excess of €200,000.

Following their detention at Ballymote Garda Station, the three arrested were brought before a sitting of Donegal District Court on Monday where they were remanded in custody by Judge Kevin Kilrane.

Gardaí are seeking help in finding a new home for the animals. The Judge asked that the ISPCA also be informed.
