Man charged after £68,000 cannabis find in west end of Glasgow – Evening Express

A man has been charged after cannabis plants worth around £68,000 were recovered by police.

Officers arrested a 51-year-old man in connection with the recovery from a flat in Byres Road in the west end of Glasgow.

The plants were seized from the flat at around 11am on Friday.

The man is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

Meanwhile, cannabis with an estimated street value of £60,000 was recovered after a car was stopped on the A90 at Fordoun in Aberdeenshire.

The recovery, which was also made on Friday, led to two people being charged.

A 41-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman are expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday.

Detective Sergeant Calum Bell said: “We are committed to targeting the illegal supply of drugs in the north-east.

“This latest recovery has removed a significant amount of drugs from communities.

“Anyone with information about the illegal supply of drugs or associated antisocial behaviour is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.

“All intelligence we receive, no matter how insignificant it may seem, helps us to build a bigger picture, which enables us undertake intelligence led operations and further disrupt the supply of drugs.”
